Dedicated and exceptionally well-trained
foster carers

No child could have better foster carers than those provided by Community Foster Care. Our carers are selected for their commitment, stamina and emotional resources. They undertake a rigorous, one-year training programme - the most comprehensive in the field - in which they learn how to integrate foster children into their families, manage challenging behaviour, sustain empathy, administer appropriate discipline, resolve conflicts and, when suitable, address issues of attachment and loss.

After they’ve qualified, our carers receive excellent on-going support from us - monthly refresher programmes, close supervision from social workers, a 24-hour on-call service, link worker assistance, training on new approaches to fostering, regular respite and emergency assistance.
